🎯 The Role

TV Product engineers deliver novel product features on Netflix’s flagship TV application to help members discover and connect with stories they'll love. We partner with designers and product managers to define and refine concepts that shape the future of entertainment on TV-connected devices.

Our work delights millions of customers worldwide on hundreds of different device types, from streaming sticks to smart TVs and cable boxes. This is a fully remote role based anywhere in the United States.

🛠️ Tech Stack

• Core Frameworks: React Frameworks, TypeScript, JavaScript
• State Architecture: Redux fine-tuned for TV platforms
• Data & APIs: GraphQL, Node.js
• Testing & Tooling: Proprietary Jest-based automation frameworks, large-scale A/B testing

💼 What You'll Do

• Build state-of-the-art UI features on the leading TV app that push the boundaries of what is possible on performance- and memory-constrained devices.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, algorithms, and engineering partners to scope and ship delightful user experiences.
• Validate judgment by designing and running A/B tests with real customers instead of guessing.
• Own the end-to-end quality of your features by writing testable, robust code and automated test coverage.
• Act as a technical and project lead for high-impact cross-functional initiatives.

✅ What You'll Need

• 6+ years of software engineering experience building consumer-facing products or applications.
• Strong track record acting as a technical lead on large cross-functional initiatives.
• Deep expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern UI architecture.
• Hands-on experience navigating different language layers and client technologies (React, Redux, GraphQL, Node.js).
• High empathy for product design, UX, and customer enjoyment.
• Bias towards action, independent judgment, and thoughtful tradeoff analysis.

🌟 Nice to Have

• Experience optimizing client performance on memory-constrained devices (smart TVs, consoles, embedded hardware).
• Experience with large-scale experimentation and multivariate testing.
