🎯 The Role
As a Software Development Engineer II on the Player engineering team in Bengaluru, you will build and fine-tune the core video player engine. This mission-critical frontend role is responsible for ensuring instantaneous video playback startup, minimal rebuffering, and rock-solid reliability across desktop browsers, mobile web clients, and Smart TV operating systems including Tizen, webOS, and VIDAA.

- Engineer and maintain the client video playback surface using React, Next.js, and modular state management.

- Optimize streaming Quality of Service (QoS) metrics: startup time, rebuffering frequency, and Playback Failure Rates.
- Connect client player interfaces with adaptive bitrate algorithms (ABR) and DRM licensing infrastructure.
- Instrument client telemetry to measure user engagement, bitrate transitions, and network dropped frames.
- Debug critical production playback issues and adhere to strict web security standards (CORS, CSP, XSS prevention).
✅ What You'll Need
- 2–4 years of hands-on professional web engineering experience with React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
- Direct production experience with HTML5 video engines (Shaka Player, HLS.js, Video.js, or Dash.js).
- Solid knowledge of adaptive video protocols (HLS and MPEG-DASH) and video manifest parsing.
- Demonstrated proficiency with browser rendering mechanics, Core Web Vitals, and client memory optimization.
- Familiarity with modern frontend bundlers (Webpack, Vite) and automated testing with Playwright or Jest.
