🎯 The Role

The Security UI POD within the TEAR team builds and operates the user-facing systems and guardrails that protect IBM Confluent Cloud—covering authentication, authorization, role-based access control (RBAC), secrets management, and audit logging. While full-stack, this role is UI-focused: you will spend the majority of your time designing and implementing rich security workflows in React, Redux, and TypeScript, with the ability to touch identity microservices in Go or Java when features demand end-to-end implementation.

💼 What You'll Do

• Build intuitive, accessible, and high-performance frontend interfaces in React and TypeScript for security and identity management.
• Implement changes across backend identity microservices to deliver end-to-end functionality.
• Embed a security-first engineering mindset with rigorous input validation, safe defaults, and defense-in-depth principles.
• Write technical one-pagers for sub-tasks, receive mentorship from senior engineers, and participate actively in peer PR reviews.
• Contribute to automated testing suites, operational runbooks, and production monitoring systems.

✅ What You'll Need

• 1-2+ years of software development experience (strong new graduates with practical internship or project experience are welcome).
• Solid competence developing web applications with React, Redux, and TypeScript.
• Working knowledge of a statically typed backend language (such as Go or Java) to navigate backend services.
• Foundational knowledge of web security concepts (authN/authZ, SSO, OIDC/SAML, session security).
• Strong eagerness to learn, accept feedback, and collaborate closely with engineering mentors.
• Active legal right to work in Canada without employer sponsorship.

• Academic coursework, certifications, or personal projects in cryptography, cloud security, or CTF challenges.
• Familiarity with containerized development environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
