🎯 The Role

Costco Wholesale is hiring a Principal Software Engineer - Frontend (Level 4) to direct the frontend technical strategy, architectural governance, and engineering execution at their Hyderabad Capability Center. In this high-impact technical leadership role, you will drive core architectural choices, pioneer high-performance web systems, and establish standards for dozens of distributed frontend squads.

• Core Frameworks: React.js, Next.js, TypeScript, Modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3
• Architecture: Design Systems, Component Governance, Micro-Frontends, MUI v5, Web Performance
• Cloud & Microservices: Google Cloud Platform (GCP), RESTful APIs, GraphQL, Kubernetes, Docker

💼 What You'll Do

• Define enterprise frontend architectural roadmaps, architectural patterns, and framework selections
• Direct the architecture and lifecycle governance of unified design system component libraries
• Spearhead performance initiatives, runtime profiling, and caching strategies across global web portals
• Champion engineering excellence, security governance, and test-driven development methodologies
• Mentor engineering leads and senior talent across multiple cross-functional product squads
• Partner with executive leadership to translate strategic business objectives into scalable software execution

✅ What You'll Need

• 12 to 15 years of professional software engineering experience with deep expertise in enterprise frontend architecture
• Exceptional mastery of React.js, Next.js, TypeScript, modern web APIs, and browser rendering internals
• Demonstrated track record architecting mission-critical, high-traffic consumer web applications
• Extensive experience implementing design systems, component libraries, and frontend performance optimizations
• Deep knowledge of cloud-native systems (GCP/Azure), containerization, and enterprise API security
• Proven ability to influence technical culture, mentor senior engineers, and align cross-functional teams
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline

• Prior experience directing architecture in large-scale online retail, eCommerce, or omni-channel environments
• Understanding of enterprise compliance standards including PCI-DSS, SOX, and data privacy regulations
• Hands-on involvement in open-source developer tooling or component architecture communities
