🎯 The Role

Agoda is seeking a Lead Software Engineer (Front End) to spearhead the evolution of their frontend systems. This role involves architecting, implementing, and optimizing user interfaces for millions of global travelers. It requires a deep understanding of frontend development principles, a passion for exceptional user experiences, and expertise in various frontend technologies. The frontend teams focus on accommodations, flights, and payments, building localized, optimized experiences across web and native platforms.

🛠️ Tech Stack

• Core: JavaScript, TypeScript, React
• Concepts: Client-side performance optimization, scalable front-end systems, modern coding and design practices (Clean Code, SOLID principles, TDD).

💼 What You'll Do

• Lead the design and development of large-scale, highly distributed frontend applications.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to build and improve scalable applications and services.
• Act as a frontend expert on major projects, offering technical guidance and mentorship.
• Engage in hands-on development of proof-of-concepts and evaluate new technologies.
• Implement technical and strategic decisions within cross-functional teams.
• Foster a culture of performance optimization through best practices.
• Maintain high coding standards and stay current with industry and technology trends.
• Contribute to strategic discussions on Agoda's future technology direction.
• Support the professional development of team members.

✅ What You'll Need

• 12+ years of software development experience in large-scale web applications, including at least 3 years in a Tech Lead role.
• Proven track record in designing, building, improving, and operating high-performance, scalable frontend systems.
• Extensive experience with client-side technologies and modern frameworks like JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
• Eagerness to work with multiple programming languages and frameworks, committed to technical excellence.
• Experience mentoring and developing Senior and Staff engineers through effective communication.
• Ability to provide technical direction across groups, leading projects with company-wide impact.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of how systems impact the bottom line, with the ability to align team efforts with business priorities.
• A continuous learning mindset, proactively driving technical advancement and influencing other teams.
