🎯 The Role

As a Staff Software Engineer focusing on UI Platform Engineering in Bengaluru, you will shape the forward-looking vision of Okta’s frontend systems. You will lead the design and development of shared infrastructure, developer frameworks, design systems, and internationalization libraries that empower product teams across Okta to build world-ready, accessible web applications.

• Specialized Systems: Internationalization (i18n), Localization (l10n), Unicode standards

💼 What You'll Do

• Define, own, and execute the technical roadmap for foundational UI platform subsystems
• Serve as the primary design reviewer for complex cross-team technical proposals and interface specifications
• Build reusable frontend component libraries, localization tools, and design system patterns for developer empowerment
• Resolve technical ambiguity across cross-functional product teams, translating high-level business goals into scalable software architecture
• Mentor senior engineers, lead technical sharing sessions, and establish modern engineering standards across Okta Platform R&D

✅ What You'll Need

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with deep expertise in frontend architecture and React.js
• Strong background in software design principles, component abstractions, and maintainable distributed systems
• Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, and backend integration using Node.js or Java
• Demonstrated track record of technical leadership, architectural governance, and cross-team consensus building
• Superb communication skills with the ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear, actionable narratives

🌟 Nice to Have

• Experience building internationalization (i18n) and localization (l10n) infrastructure for enterprise-scale platforms
• Deep knowledge of Unicode specifications, ISO standards, and global testing methodologies
• Prior experience working on internal developer platform teams treating engineers as customers
