Staff Engineer - Platform Frontend

🎯 The Role

As a Staff Front-End Engineer on the Platform team, you will own the architectural foundation that every feature team builds upon. This is a foundational platform engineering role rather than a feature delivery position. You will take full ownership of HighLevel's application shell, micro-frontend module federation contracts, shared design system implementation, build tooling, and runtime performance benchmarks across the entire suite.

💼 What You'll Do

• Architect the platform UI target state and lead multi-quarter migrations using codemods and incremental rollout strategies.
• Define and govern the application shell: bootstrapping protocols, routing mechanisms, auth boundaries, and global state.
• Oversee the Module Federation topology: host/remote contracts, singleton dependency sharing, and version skew protection.
• Implement robust failure isolation patterns so that slow or malfunctioning remotes degrade gracefully without crashing user sessions.
• Benchmark runtime performance: eliminate main-thread bottlenecks, resolve render thrashing, optimize reactivity graphs, and plug memory leaks.
• Establish and automate accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 AA), cross-browser parity, and Core Web Vitals budgets in CI pipelines.
• Mentor senior frontend engineers and guide technical direction through well-reasoned RFCs and design documentation.

✅ What You'll Need

• 9+ years of professional front-end development experience with deep mastery of browser mechanics (rendering, event loop, memory, networking).
• Extensive experience architecting applications with modern component libraries (primarily Vue 3; strong React, Angular, or Svelte engineers willing to master Vue 3 are welcome).
• Direct production experience implementing micro-frontends or Module Federation architectures, including handling their operational failure modes.
• Proven history profiling and optimizing large-scale web applications with concrete, measurable outcomes.
• Deep familiarity with modern enterprise build tooling (Vite, Webpack, Rspack, or Turborepo) and build debugging.
• Strong track record of async technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and authoring architectural proposals that build engineering consensus.
