As a Sr. Software Engineer (UI Developer) on the Ethos Design System (EDS) team, you will act as a craftsman of the modern web platform. In this role, you will build foundational, framework-agnostic UI components using Lit and native Web Components that serve as the building blocks for over 100 clinical and enterprise healthcare products across GE HealthCare. You will design intuitive component APIs, ensure seamless interoperability with React, Angular, and Vue, and champion uncompromising standards for accessibility, design fidelity, and performance.

๐ผ What You'll Do
- Engineer encapsulated, accessible, and high-performance UI components using the Lit library and modern web standards.
- Architect intuitive component APIs defining props, custom events, and slots consumed by thousands of engineers across the enterprise.
- Build and maintain integration wrappers enabling frictionless consumption inside React, Angular, and Vue applications.
- Partner daily with Lead System Designers (LSD), Product Owners, and architects using Figma Dev Mode to achieve exact design fidelity.
- Champion digital accessibility, ensuring all components comply strictly with WCAG 2.1 AA criteria (keyboard navigation, screen reader ARIA support, contrast).
- Write comprehensive unit tests with Jest/ViTest and author detailed integration guides and interactive examples in Storybook.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools responsibly to accelerate refactoring, testing, documentation, and debugging.
โ What You'll Need
- 5โ8 years of professional frontend web development experience building large-scale enterprise applications.
- Strong mastery of modern JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, semantic HTML5, and SASS/CSS architecture.
- 3+ years of close cross-functional collaboration with UX designers, with demonstrated proficiency using Figma Dev Mode.
- Thorough understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA), keyboard interactions, and ARIA attributes.
- Experience writing automated unit test suites using Jest or ViTest.
- Familiarity working in Agile methodologies and tooling (Rally or Jira).
- Experience incorporating AI development assistants into daily coding workflows.
