🎯 The Role

ChatGPT is expanding from a conversational assistant into an interactive, multimodal guide that helps people discover, decide, and purchase across everyday tasks. The ChatGPT Shopping squad sits at the crossroads of frontier AI research, product design, and consumer engineering. In this role, you will build end-to-end web experiences that blend conversation, computer vision, personalization, and rich interactive components.

💼 What You'll Do

• Architect and deliver full-stack product features spanning modern web frontends and real-time backend services
• Partner with researchers, designers, and product managers to rapidly prototype and release AI-native commerce tools
• Build high-performance UI components that make complex multimodal AI interactions seamless and intuitive
• Scale backend infrastructure supporting personalized, low-latency recommendations and search
• Drive product experimentation, telemetry analysis, and fast iteration cycles based on user feedback
• Establish engineering standards and frontend design patterns for the Applied AI organization

✅ What You'll Need

• Proven track record building and shipping consumer-facing applications end to end
• Strong expertise in modern frontend frameworks (React, TypeScript, Next.js)
• Solid backend engineering experience using Python, Go, Node.js, or Rust
• Strong grasp of distributed systems, API design, and cloud services
• Exceptional design sensibility, product intuition, and attention to UX craft
• Comfort working in ambiguous 0→1 settings and collaborating across cross-functional teams
