🎯 The Role
As a Software Development Engineer III on the Contacts Team, you will be a hands-on individual contributor driving technical outcomes for HighLevel's core CRM platform. This team manages the essential infrastructure for contact records, views, filters, and segmentation, interacting with every product surface. You will own high-impact initiatives to build scalable, reliable, and flexible systems powering millions of daily interactions.

💼 What You'll Do
- Design and build highly scalable and reliable backend services using Node.js, MongoDB, and ElasticSearch, focusing on optimal indexing, sharding, and query performance.
- Develop and optimize user interfaces using Vue.js (or React/Angular) to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
- Design and implement real-time data processing pipelines utilizing Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
- Optimize system performance through autoscaling, database sharding, and advanced indexing strategies to efficiently handle millions of transactions.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Data Engineers, and DevOps teams to ensure alignment on vision, execution, and business goals.
- Implement secure, maintainable, and scalable codebases, adhering to industry best practices.
- Drive high engineering standards, conduct thorough code reviews, and enforce best practices across the development team.
- Manage timelines, oversee deployments, and ensure smooth product releases with minimal downtime.
- Mentor other developers, promoting best practices in software development, clean architecture, and performance optimization.
✅ What You'll Need
- 4+ years of hands-on software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Node.js, Vue.js (or React/Angular), MongoDB, and Elasticsearch.
- Experience with real-time data processing, message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ), and event-driven architectures.
- Proven expertise in scaling services to 200k+ MAUs and managing high-throughput systems.
- A strong understanding of database sharding, indexing, and performance optimization.
