🎯 The Role

The Retail and Marcom Engineering team within IS&T powers the digital systems connecting Apple products with global customers. This group owns the interactive technologies driving both Apple's online and physical retail experiences, alongside marketing software that supports global creative campaigns.

As a Senior UI Engineer, you will craft intuitive, highly responsive, and accessible web applications that meet Apple's benchmark for design quality, visual excellence, and engineering performance.

🛠️ Tech Stack

• Core Technologies: JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3
• Frameworks: React (or Angular/Vue)
• Design Systems: Reusable Component Libraries, Design Tokens, Storybook
• Data & APIs: RESTful APIs, GraphQL, WebSocket / Streaming data
• Performance & Testing: Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP), Jest, Playwright, Cypress
• AI & Tooling: Generative AI workflows, LLM API integration, Git, Vite, Webpack

💼 What You'll Do

• Architect and deliver scalable web applications using TypeScript and modern component frameworks.
• Build and expand enterprise design systems and design token architectures across color, typography, spacing, and theming.
• Actively monitor and optimize web performance budgets, ensuring fast load times and healthy Core Web Vitals.
• Implement comprehensive automated unit, integration, and E2E test suites to maintain product stability.
• Champion inclusive design by adhering to WCAG and WAI-ARIA accessibility standards.
• Explore generative AI integrations to accelerate internal prototyping and deliver intelligent user experiences.

✅ What You'll Need

• 4–8 years of professional frontend web engineering experience on production web applications.
• Solid command of modern JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, semantic HTML, and advanced CSS.
• Proven experience building component-driven architectures with React, Angular, or Vue along with modern state management.
• Demonstrated craft in building reusable component libraries with an eye for responsive layouts and pixel perfection.
• Practical knowledge of browser profiling, performance optimizations, and code-splitting techniques.
• Deep understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and cross-browser rendering nuances.
• Strong experience integrating complex data flows via REST and GraphQL.

🌟 Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience with Storybook, Figma-to-code workflows, or micro-frontend architectures.
• Familiarity with Content Management Systems (such as AEM).
• Practical experience integrating LLM APIs, AI agents, or real-time streaming data.
• Familiarity with D3.js or other data visualization libraries.
