🎯 The Role
Join Rippling's UI Platform team as a Senior Software Engineer, focusing on frontend and fullstack development. This hands-on role involves building foundational platform systems, primarily Rippling’s Application Framework / Server Driven UI, which will be utilized by over 40 product teams. You will drive technical clarity, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and operate in a fast-paced environment, with an approximate 80% frontend and 20% backend split.

💼 What You'll Do
- Build and evolve Rippling’s Application Framework / SDUI platform for configurable, consistent, and scalable user experiences.
- Partner with 40+ product teams to support the adoption and evolution of UI Platform capabilities.
- Design and implement reusable frontend platform primitives, patterns, and abstractions to boost engineering velocity.
- Collaborate with Design, Product, and Engineering to translate platform requirements into high-quality technical solutions.
- Contribute to frontend architecture, performance, developer tooling, and platform reliability.
- Develop backend components for configuration-driven UI, schema-based rendering, and platform APIs.
- Enhance the developer experience for product engineers building on Rippling’s UI Platform.
- Participate in technical design, code reviews, debugging, testing, and production support.
- Utilize AI tools to improve development velocity, code quality, and engineering workflows.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to drive projects and influence technical direction.
- Contribute to design systems, shared UI infrastructure, and AI-assisted development workflows.
✅ What You'll Need
- 6–9 years of professional software engineering experience, with strong frontend/platform/product engineering exposure.
- Proven experience building complex frontend applications using modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks like React.
- Solid understanding of frontend architecture, component design, state management, performance, accessibility, testing, and maintainability.
- Experience building reusable UI systems, internal platforms, frontend infrastructure, or developer-facing frameworks.
- Comfort working fullstack, with backend exposure in APIs, services, data modeling, or configuration systems.
- Ability to independently own projects from design through execution and launch.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, especially with multiple product teams.
- Good product and design sensibility, balancing platform consistency with product flexibility.
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with high ownership.
- Practical exposure to AI tools, AI-assisted development, or automation is strongly preferred.
- Experience with design systems, component libraries, SDUI, or configuration-driven platforms is a strong plus.

- Experience building or contributing to design systems or shared frontend platforms.
- Experience with server-driven UI / schema-driven UI / configuration-driven rendering.
- Exposure to frontend monorepos, micro-frontends, module federation, or large-scale web architecture.
- Experience building internal developer tools, platform APIs, or productivity infrastructure.
- Familiarity with AI coding tools, AI agent workflows, prompt orchestration, or code-generation systems.
- Experience working in a platform team that supports multiple product teams.
