🎯 The Role

As a Senior Software Development Engineer specializing in Web, you will be a pivotal member of the Player team, dedicated to building and optimizing world-class video playback experiences. This role involves solving complex technical challenges, independently developing scalable systems, and shaping next-generation solutions that drive JioStar's mission. You will lead architectural design, ensure peak performance across diverse platforms, and mentor fellow engineers, all while contributing to an innovative software environment.

💼 What You'll Do

• Lead the design and architecture of complex front-end systems using modern frameworks.
• Optimize web applications for maximum speed, scalability, and Core Web Vitals across all platforms.
• Ensure a seamless and consistent user experience across desktop browsers, mobile web, and Smart TV platforms.
• Conduct rigorous code reviews and provide mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and UX Designers to translate designs into high-quality, reusable components.
• Integrate player UI with video playback engines and manage streaming protocols.
• Design and integrate analytics and observability frameworks to track key performance metrics.
• Debug and resolve critical production issues with a strong ownership mindset and focus on reliability.
• Implement and enforce robust web security best practices, including XSS prevention and DRM-related protections.

✅ What You'll Need

• 4+ years of professional experience in modern web development.
• Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript, React, Next.js, and CSS-in-JS.
• Deep hands-on experience with HTML5 video players and SDKs, including customization and error handling.
• Expert knowledge of HLS and MPEG-DASH streaming protocols.
• Hands-on experience with modern build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
