🎯 The Role

As a Senior Frontend Engineer on the Repository team, you will solve high-scope frontend problems and influence technical and product direction for core repository capabilities—from Git command-line operations to web-based code exploration. You will architect modular frontend surfaces, mentor intermediate engineers, drive performance and accessibility, and help shape how modern frontend teams integrate AI-assisted development tools responsibly.

💼 What You'll Do

• Design and ship high-impact frontend features and architectural improvements with minimal guidance.
• Turn ambiguous customer needs into clear technical plans and intuitive, accessible user experiences.
• Advocate for web performance, accessibility, maintainability, and operational readiness across repository interfaces.
• Establish and refine team standards for frontend architecture, component design, testing, and observability.
• Mentor and guide associate and intermediate engineers through code reviews, design docs, and paired sessions.
• Diagnose and resolve frontend performance bottlenecks using production observability signals.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, backend, and security teams across an asynchronous remote culture.

✅ What You'll Need

• Significant experience with frontend architecture, browser behavior, testing, accessibility, and performance in high-scale web platforms.
• Demonstrated experience designing modular frontend boundaries, independently buildable surfaces, and component systems.
• Ability to lead through technical judgment, pragmatic trade-offs, and clear written asynchronous communication.
• Track record of mentoring engineers and elevating team practices through design reviews and documentation.
• Practical experience integrating AI into development workflows, features, or engineering processes.

• Practical experience with Vue.js or similar modern frameworks (React, Angular).
• Experience with GraphQL or RESTful service integrations.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
