🎯 The Role

As a Principal Full Stack Software Engineer, you will serve as a foundational technical leader shaping the architecture and system evolution of Atlassian's core platforms. You will partner across engineering divisions to tackle high-concurrency cloud scaling bottlenecks, accelerate AI initiatives, and translate product strategies into robust, maintainable distributed systems.

💼 What You'll Do

• Spearhead technical designs and end-to-end execution for multi-team, high-impact cloud initiatives

• Collaborate with product and platform leaders to navigate technical trade-offs and drive customer-first product outcomes
• Elevate engineering standards across the organization through regular design reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing
• Mentor staff and senior software engineers, guiding their career progression and technical judgment

✅ What You'll Need

• 10+ years of hands-on experience building complex, production full-stack systems
• Deep proficiency with modern frontend and backend languages such as React, Node.js, Java, or Scala
• Extensive track record architecting resilient, large-scale systems with high availability and observability requirements
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional technical teams
• Passion for technical mentorship, code hygiene, and fostering an inclusive engineering environment
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or comparable technical background
