🎯 The Role

As a Frontend Software Engineer II on the unified R&D team, you will design, build, and maintain frontend systems and tooling that deliver seamless experiences across Atlassian's cloud product suite. You will work on scalable web architecture, optimize user workflows, and ensure the client-side code remains durable, fast, and maintainable.

💼 What You'll Do

• Engineer fast, scalable, and testable client-side applications that power critical user workflows
• Collaborate closely with product managers, visual designers, and cross-functional engineers to solve complex UX challenges
• Perform comprehensive code reviews, author technical architecture documentation, and troubleshoot tricky production issues
• Guide engineering projects from initial discovery and technical design through implementation, deployment, and ongoing observability
• Support team growth by onboarding and mentoring junior engineers

✅ What You'll Need

• 4+ years of hands-on experience developing production web applications with JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS
• Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript libraries and frameworks, particularly React
• Solid understanding of frontend tooling, bundling, testing methodologies, and release workflows
• Experience building and maintaining automated test suites with Jest, Cypress, or equivalent frameworks
• History of shipping resilient software systems across medium-to-large scopes
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical engineering background
