🎯 The Role

Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research lab on a Frontier Code Agents project. As a contributor, you'll evaluate and help improve frontier AI coding models through structured technical assessments grounded in realistic frontend engineering workflows. The focus is on model evaluation and judgment rather than shipping traditional product code.

• Frontier AI coding agents: Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, Gemini CLI
• Modern web application architecture, accessibility, and performance tooling

💼 What You'll Do

• Use frontier AI coding agents to complete and evaluate complex engineering tasks
• Review model-generated frontend code for correctness, quality, maintainability, accessibility, and performance
• Identify bugs, edge cases, and failure modes in model outputs
• Compare outputs from multiple frontier models and weigh their strengths and weaknesses
• Apply professional engineering judgment to realistic frontend scenarios

✅ What You'll Need

• 2+ years of professional frontend engineering experience
• Hands-on experience building modern web apps with React, TypeScript, or JavaScript
• Regular use of AI coding agents (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, or similar)
• The ability to assess model-generated UI implementations, architecture, and performance optimizations

• Experience working on large-scale consumer or enterprise applications

💰 Engagement & Pay

• Headline rate of $85/hour, with task-based pay of $400 per accepted task (typical tasks run ~2–3 hours after ramp-up)
• Sprint-based project running in 12–24 hour stretches based on client need
• Fully remote independent contractor engagement, completed on your own schedule
• Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise
