🎯 The Role
As a Staff Frontend Engineer on the Client Data & Networking Platform team, you will be instrumental in defining and evolving the data layer of Airbnb's client technology stack. This includes managing the GraphQL runtime, client networking infrastructure, and associated developer tooling. You will empower frontend engineers across the company to build fast, reliable, and data-rich features at scale, influencing best practices and engineering strategy.

💼 What You'll Do
- Collaborate with Airbnb product teams to understand their challenges, pilot solutions, and drive the adoption of standardized tooling and frameworks.
- Work alongside Android and iOS engineers to develop foundational, cross-platform solutions.
- Engage with various infrastructure teams and support product foundation teams in building new capabilities.
- Contribute to all stages of software development, from architecture and design through implementation, testing, and on-call support.
✅ What You'll Need
- Over 10 years of industry experience in software development.
- Extensive expertise in developing web applications with TypeScript, including designing and integrating with GraphQL and REST APIs.
- Prior experience within a Platform, Infrastructure, or Developer Productivity team in a large engineering organization.
- Strong grasp of engineering fundamentals, particularly in client networking, performance optimization, caching, client storage, and asynchronous programming.
- Proven ability to mentor engineers and establish best practices for web client development.
- Demonstrated influence on engineering strategy and technical priorities across a large organization.
