🎯 The Role

You will join the engineering team responsible for The Roku Channel, a global streaming service impacting millions of users. Your work will involve building and optimizing apps for major platforms like FireTV, GoogleTV, web browsers, and smart TVs.

🛠️ Tech Stack

• React, Redux, Node.js, Express
• TypeScript, HTML5, SASS/LESS
• Media: HLS, MPEG-DASH, MSE/EME, VideoJS
• Infra: AWS/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes

💼 What You'll Do

• Lead the architecture and implementation of technology solutions for media-heavy web apps.
• Collaborate across Roku's global engineering teams to deliver world-class media playbacks.
• Drive innovation in user experience, reliability, and app stability.
• Participate in end-to-end development, from scoping and design to support and monitoring.

✅ What You'll Need

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of professional web development experience at scale.
• Deep understanding of component-based architecture and async operations.
• Strong analytical abilities and experience with distributed system monitoring.

🌟 Nice to Have

• Experience with Backend-For-Frontend (BFF) paradigms.
• Knowledge of DRM systems and media playback on mobile (iOS/Android).
