🎯 The Role

Wonder is hiring a Frontend Software Engineer to join the Robotics engineering team in Boston. In this role, you will create high-performance user interfaces that monitor, configure, and control automated restaurant machinery. You will build browser-based applications that talk directly to on-premise robotic stations via persistent WebSocket connections, ensuring low-latency operator control under continuous commercial kitchen demand.

💼 What You'll Do

• Build and maintain responsive Vue.js applications that serve as the command center for robotic kitchen operations
• Design robust real-time communication systems using WebSockets to consume high-throughput hardware telemetry
• Partner closely with product designers to implement intuitive, tactile interfaces from Figma designs
• Diagnose frontend performance bottlenecks and optimize rendering cycles for busy kitchen tablet environments
• Collaborate with embedded systems and backend engineers to integrate frontend clients with on-premise hardware

✅ What You'll Need

• 3+ years of professional frontend web development experience
• Deep proficiency with Vue.js (or modern component frameworks like React/Svelte), TypeScript, and CSS
• Solid understanding of centralized state management stores and managing asynchronous, reactive data
• Hands-on experience building bidirectional real-time features using WebSockets
• Strong focus on frontend profiling, performance optimization, and memory efficiency
• Ability to work onsite 3 days per week at the Wonder engineering facility in Charlestown, Boston, MA

🌟 Nice to Have

• Exposure to hardware-in-the-loop systems, robotics, or industrial IoT interfaces
• Curiosity or willingness to learn Elixir and Phoenix on the backend integration layer
• Experience building tablet or touch-first interfaces for high-pressure physical operational environments
