🎯 The Role

Société Générale is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to head frontend development for core banking platforms in Bengaluru. In this technical leadership role, you will architect resilient user interfaces, champion software craftsmanship standards, and oversee end-to-end delivery of web applications built with React, Angular, and TypeScript. You will foster a culture of quality, agile delivery, and test-driven development while collaborating with distributed international engineering teams.

💼 What You'll Do

• Lead the architecture and implementation of scalable, modular web applications using modern React and Angular frameworks
• Establish and promote software craftsmanship practices, emphasizing clean code, TDD, and Domain-Driven Design
• Design robust automated testing suites covering unit, integration, and end-to-end scenarios
• Partner with backend engineers to integrate frontend interfaces with Java and Spring Boot microservices
• Leverage containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and Azure cloud infrastructure for reliable application hosting
• Guide sprint delivery, perform in-depth code reviews, and mentor engineers across the pod

✅ What You'll Need

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong mastery of React, Angular, and TypeScript
• Solid foundation in software craftsmanship principles, agile engineering, and automated testing (TDD/BDD)
• Demonstrated ability to write and maintain comprehensive unit and E2E test suites
• Practical experience with backend frameworks such as Java and Spring Boot
• Familiarity with version control workflows (Git) and enterprise issue tracking systems (Jira)
• Ability to work under a hybrid working model based out of the Bengaluru office

🌟 Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience with cloud and container technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure
• Prior experience delivering software solutions within investment banking or financial services
• Exposure to micro-frontend architectures or distributed web platform designs
