🎯 The Role

This is a high-ownership, hands-on role reporting to the VP of Engineering. You'll lead the frontend team (currently 3, scaling to 5+) and shape technical direction while shipping product yourself. The team values clear thinking over heavy process — engineers get real context on the "why" and autonomy on the "how." AI is core to the workflow, with LLMs used daily for coding, debugging, and code reviews.

💼 What You'll Do

• Own the frontend experience end-to-end across web and mobile (Angular + Ionic) from problem shaping through production
• Drive complex features: dig into the problem, design the approach, ship fast, and iterate based on real usage
• Set and evolve technical direction, architecture, patterns, tooling, and developer experience
• Partner with product and design to define solutions, not just execute specs
• Write a lot of code — this is a hands-on role first, leadership second
• Mentor engineers and build a team culture of quality, speed, and ownership

✅ What You'll Need

• Proven track record shipping complex user-facing products (web + mobile ideal)
• Strong product instincts, with the ability to push back when something doesn't feel right for the user
• Deep TypeScript fundamentals (component architecture, state management, performance)
• Experience mentoring engineers and setting team standards
• Comfort with ambiguity — turning rough problems into shipped solutions
• Pragmatic judgment on architecture vs. shipping and learning

🌟 Nice to Have

• Experience with React, Vue, or other modern frameworks — strong engineers ramp quickly; fundamentals matter more than specific framework experience
• Familiarity building internal tooling or workflows on top of LLM APIs
• Experience evaluating and rolling out AI tooling for a team
• Hybrid mobile app experience (Ionic, Capacitor, Cordova)
