🎯 The Role

ClickUp is seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager (Frontend) to lead a business-critical team building collaborative document editing technologies. In this remote US role, you will guide technical architecture, grow engineering talent, and steer product execution for the ClickUp Docs ecosystem.

💼 What You'll Do

• Provide direct people leadership, mentorship, and career development for a team of talented engineers.
• Drive technical architecture and best practices across client-side interfaces and supporting Node.js services.
• Lead the development of collaborative document authoring, formatting, and live multi-user editing features.
• Collaborate closely with product management and UX design to balance feature delivery with long-term code health.
• Maintain high reliability and performance across the Docs platform, proactively addressing technical debt.
• Champion engineering rigor through structured code reviews, automated testing, and production monitoring.

✅ What You'll Need

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 1 year in a dedicated leadership or engineering management role.
• Strong technical proficiency with Node.js and at least one modern frontend framework (such as React).
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS environments and relational databases.
• Familiarity with collaborative editing paradigms, real-time sync systems, or rich text engines.
• Demonstrated ability to coach engineers and cultivate an inclusive, high-performance team culture.
• Strong communication skills with the capability to bridge technical and business requirements.

🌟 Nice to Have

• Experience working with canvas-based rendering or custom rich-text editor frameworks.
• Background deploying client-facing generative AI tools to assist writing and document workflows.
