🎯 The Role

xAI is hiring a Web Engineer to join the subscription web team on-site in Palo Alto, CA. You will architect, optimize, and launch client-side and full-stack features powering real-time conversations, payments, and account services for hundreds of millions of users worldwide.

💼 What You'll Do

• Lead the development of client-facing subscription modules, interactive web dashboards, and real-time analytics.
• Architect robust, low-latency web applications capable of handling massive global traffic spikes.
• Refine user interface ergonomics and visual fidelity alongside design and product leadership.
• Maintain high reliability standards through rigorous testing, telemetry, and automated deployments.
• Continuously benchmark and eliminate latency across client render cycles and network payloads.

✅ What You'll Need

• 2+ years of dedicated web engineering experience.
• Deep fluency in TypeScript, Node.js, and modern component frameworks like React.
• Advanced expertise in CSS/Sass, browser rendering mechanisms, and UI layout patterns.
• Proven track record diagnosing and resolving web performance bottlenecks.
• Proactive mindset with a desire to take complete end-to-end ownership in a flat, fast-moving environment.

🌟 Nice to Have

• 5+ years of experience engineering frontend systems on large-scale consumer applications.
• Backend proficiency in systems languages such as Rust, Go, Java, Python, or Scala.
