🎯 The Role

As a Tech Lead Frontend Engineer, you will join a high-performing distributed team dedicated to building compelling experiences for Reuters. You will lead the development of modular, scalable, and performant web-based applications, striking a balance between pragmatism and technical perfection. This role offers significant autonomy to make implementation decisions and architect solutions for mission-critical news services.

💼 What You'll Do

• Help architect and build scalable web applications from ideation to production.
• Define the application’s data model and build complex UI views using modern abstractions.
• Educate and lead peers through code reviews, mentoring, and technical guidance.
• Work within an Agile Scrum methodology, estimating scope and forecasting delivery timelines.
• Integrate substantial backend services into frontend curation and e-commerce platforms.
• Utilize diagrams and clear communication to explain complex technical tradeoffs to stakeholders.

✅ What You'll Need

• At least 9 years of professional frontend engineering experience.
• Expert-level command of React, Next.js, and the broader TypeScript ecosystem.
• Proven ability to design technical solutions based on high-level business briefs.
• Solid understanding of Infrastructure, low-latency app building, and AWS.
• Experience with CLEAN architecture, Domain Driven Design (DDD), and functional programming.
• Strong self-direction and adaptability to evolving product and business needs.

🌟 Nice to Have

• Experience with Clojure/ClojureScript for web development.
• Mastery of automated cross-browser testing using Playwright.
• Background in behavioral analytics reporting and large-scale content hosted solutions.
• Passion for monorepo tooling and modern deployment strategies.
