🎯 The Role
As a Software Engineer with a frontend focus, you'll be a key contributor to Pearson's Credly and Faethm platforms while also influencing broader frontend engineering standards across the organisation. This is a fully remote, hands-on role with real architecture ownership — you'll help shape how Pearson builds and scales frontend applications globally.

💼 What You'll Do
- Design and build scalable React applications using TypeScript and modern JavaScript
- Define frontend architecture patterns and modular component structures that work across teams
- Build and maintain shared UI libraries, tools, and frameworks
- Optimise applications for performance, accessibility, and long-term reliability
- Integrate frontend interfaces with backend services via RESTful APIs
- Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering quality and best practices
✅ What You'll Need
- 5+ years of professional frontend development experience
- Strong production experience with React, TypeScript, and ES6+ JavaScript
- Experience with state management using Redux or a comparable library
- Deep understanding of frontend architecture, design patterns, and performance optimisation
- Solid HTML, CSS, and responsive design fundamentals
- Experience consuming RESTful APIs
- A collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams
🌟 Nice to Have
- Experience with micro-frontends or large-scale frontend platforms
- Exposure to PostgreSQL or Elasticsearch
- Experience building Progressive Web Apps (PWAs)
- Familiarity with Ruby on Rails
- Interest in accessibility standards and inclusive design
