🎯 The Role
Affirm is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to define and lead web platform and infrastructure across all web engineering teams. In this role, you will shape technical strategy, drive architectural standards, optimize monorepo tooling, and establish best-in-class frontend developer velocity.

💼 What You'll Do
- Lead the overall technical direction and architectural roadmap for web frontend systems across Affirm.

- Partner with design and engineering teams to evolve enterprise design systems and accessibility standards.
- Instrument web application observability, Core Web Vitals profiling, and proactive client-side error monitoring.
- Mentor senior and staff engineers through technical coaching, design reviews, and architectural RFCs.
✅ What You'll Need
- 8+ years of experience engineering modern frontend applications and client infrastructure.
- Advanced mastery of React, TypeScript, and web browser runtime internals.
- Demonstrated track record of leading large-scale frontend architecture and tooling across multiple teams.
- Deep understanding of web performance tuning, code splitting, caching, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Clear communication skills with experience influencing engineering roadmaps at an organizational level.
