🎯 The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Converse Engineering team, you will independently own the development and maintenance of high-throughput messaging platform features. You will design, build, and deploy capabilities across modern React frontends, robust Node.js backend services, and third-party provider integrations while ensuring system reliability and scalability in production.

• Tooling & Infrastructure: Git, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Observability Tooling

💼 What You'll Do

• Build, maintain, and scale core features for the Converse messaging and communication platform
• Design and implement resilient third-party provider integrations and middleware workflows
• Own features end-to-end from requirement refinement, technical design, and development to testing and production deployment
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex debugging and performance issues across distributed systems
• Partner closely with Product Managers, QA engineers, DevOps, and external integration providers
• Contribute to architecture reviews, engineering best practices, and developer tooling improvements

✅ What You'll Need

• 5–6+ years of hands-on experience building full-stack applications with React and Node.js (MERN or equivalent stack)
• Solid foundation in distributed API design, asynchronous processing, and system architecture
• Strong frontend intuition with modern component patterns and state management in React
• Proven background integrating and debugging third-party APIs and middleware systems
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and scalable software design principles
• Demonstrated track record of full ownership, execution discipline, and clear communication

• Prior experience building SaaS communication platforms, messaging systems, or workflow engines
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and message queuing systems
• Exposure to production observability, telemetry, and release automation tooling
