🎯 The Role
As a Senior Software Development Engineer (Frontend) at Tesco, you will be a pivotal individual contributor specializing in modern frontend development with deep expertise in React and the JavaScript ecosystem. This role involves significant technical leadership, influencing frontend architecture, design patterns, and best practices across multiple teams. You will take ownership of UI development, ensuring high standards in accessibility, responsiveness, and maintainability, while also mentoring and coaching engineers.

✅ What You'll Need
- Mastery of React Core & Hooks, including advanced concepts like reconciliation and Suspense.
- Expertise in TypeScript for building scalable and strongly typed component APIs.
- Strong understanding of component design patterns (HOC, render props, composition).
- Proven experience with state management libraries such as Redux Toolkit or React Query.
- Deep knowledge of performance optimization techniques (memoization, code splitting, virtualization).
- Advanced JavaScript fundamentals, including closures, async flows, and immutability.
- Experience in designing and implementing scalable frontend architectures and design systems.
- Proficiency in API integration (REST/GraphQL), caching, and error handling.
- Solid experience with testing frameworks like Jest, React Testing Library, and E2E tools (Cypress/Playwright).
- Strong command of modern CSS, Flexbox, Grid, and UI styling systems.
- Understanding of accessibility (a11y) principles and semantic HTML.
- Familiarity with browser fundamentals, web performance, and build tools (Vite/Webpack).
