🎯 The Role

As a Senior Frontend Engineer at Refold AI, you will own critical pieces of the core user experience and platform architecture. You will design and implement the visual layer where human operators and autonomous agents collaborate—building real-time interfaces for complex integration workflows, execution streaming, tool inspection, and permission graphs. You will work closely with the founders, product designers, and backend teams in a fast-paced Day-0 startup environment.

💼 What You'll Do

• Architect and ship intuitive, robust user interfaces across Refold's integration platform.
• Build interactive visualizations for integration DAGs, workflow builders, tool discovery, and execution telemetry.
• Develop rich frontend experiences for agentic AI interactions, including token-by-token streaming, tool run inspection, intermediate state tracking, and human-in-the-loop approvals.
• Design reusable component libraries and robust frontend abstractions to ensure long-term developer velocity.
• Solve deep frontend engineering challenges around DOM rendering performance, network caching, bundle optimization, and latency.
• Partner with product designers and backend engineers to turn high-ambiguity technical challenges into elegant, polished user experiences.
• Participate in code reviews, establish frontend engineering standards, and mentor team members.

✅ What You'll Need

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in shipping production frontend applications.
• Strong hands-on proficiency with React, TypeScript, and modern web application patterns.
• Thorough grounding in JavaScript fundamentals, browser rendering pipelines, HTTP/network protocols, and web performance.
• Practical experience designing and maintaining scalable component systems and UI architectures.
• Familiarity working with asynchronous event streams, WebSockets, Server-Sent Events, and RESTful APIs.
• High degree of ownership, product instincts, and the ability to drive technical decisions independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Sharp debugging skills across the browser lifecycle, network requests, and API integrations.

• Prior experience building canvas-based workflow builders, graph editors, or node-based automation tools.
• Experience with AI agent user interfaces, LLM streaming, or developer tooling.
• Previous experience in an early-stage startup or high-growth B2B SaaS company.
