🎯 The Role

As a Senior Frontend Engineer on the Frontend Functional team, you will build scalable interfaces with React and TypeScript. You will own major parts of the codebase, help improve frontend architecture, and ship polished consumer experiences with product and design.

Travel is expected about twice a year for an all-hands meetup and a team retreat. Meetings are on camera, and a background check is required.

💼 What You'll Do

• Build and own features across new and existing DuckDuckGo products
• Lead major frontend components and keep them healthy over time
• Write pragmatic, performant, testable code across browsers and devices
• Improve frontend software architecture with privacy and UX as constraints
• Partner with backend, Android, iOS, product, and design teammates
• Define success criteria and validate decisions with metrics

✅ What You'll Need

• 7+ years where writing code was your primary responsibility
• Advanced JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Advanced React and TypeScript
• Advanced web application architecture experience
• Experience leading engineering projects with little oversight
• Experience building large-scale web applications
• Comfort collaborating across platforms, product, and design
