🎯 The Role

As a Principal UI Engineer, you will join the team behind Orion, a sophisticated platform that enables scientists to model billions of compounds in-silico using advanced HPC and 3D visualization. You will work at the intersection of science and technology, building high-performance interfaces that help researchers explore chemical space and gain critical scientific insights. This role involves both developing cutting-edge new features and modernizing core software components.

💼 What You'll Do

• Architect and extend UI capabilities for complex scientific visualization and modeling tools.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including scientists, designers, and software engineers to solve specialized challenges.
• Drive the modernization of existing UI software while ensuring high performance for billion-compound datasets.
• Implement robust data management solutions and collaborative features within the Orion platform.
• Mentor other engineers and set high standards for code quality, testing, and system integrity.

✅ What You'll Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related scientific field (Biology/Chemistry).
• 8+ years of professional experience building and debugging complex, large-scale user interfaces.
• Specialist-level knowledge of Modern JavaScript, TypeScript, and CSS/HTML.
• Deep experience with the Vue ecosystem (Vue, Pinia, Nuxt) and modern application frameworks.
• Strong command of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures.

🌟 Nice to Have

• Experience with WebGL, 3D viz, and high-performance computing (HPC).
• Familiarity with Python, Web Workers, or WebAssembly.
• Background in Life Sciences or Molecular Design industries.
• Expertise in CI/CD pipelines and end-to-end testing frameworks.
