🎯 The Role

Cognite is seeking a visionary Principal Frontend Engineer to lead the technical evolution of their React.js foundation in Bengaluru. This architect-level role focuses on building robust, scalable systems from the ground up, specifically architecting industrial-scale Digital Twins. You will drive high-level architectural design, establish performance standards, and mentor the React.js chapter in India, collaborating closely with European stakeholders to align technical roadmaps. This position is for a leader who excels in creating foundational UI kits and design systems that serve as a force multiplier for global teams.

💼 What You'll Do

• Lead the high-level architectural design of complex, data-heavy web applications using React.js, TypeScript, and Micro-frontend patterns.
• Design and implement modular UI kits and comprehensive design systems that empower multiple global development teams.
• Establish and enforce gold standards for React performance, state management, and sophisticated rendering strategies.
• Act as a technical bridge between UI and API, influencing backend data contracts and ensuring seamless system synergy.
• Elevate the React.js engineering chapter in India through strategic mentorship, fostering team growth and "Clean Code" standards.
• Collaborate daily with international stakeholders, particularly in Europe, to align technical roadmaps and ensure cross-cultural communication.

✅ What You'll Need

• 10+ years of professional experience in frontend development, with a proven track record of shipping production-grade software at scale.
• Expert-level mastery of the modern JavaScript ecosystem, including React.js and TypeScript.
• Deep expertise in architectural design for complex, data-heavy web applications.
• Strong understanding and practical experience with performance engineering, state management, and rendering strategies in React.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, including strategic mentorship and fostering clean code practices.
• Comfort with a hybrid work model, requiring 3 days a week in the Bengaluru office.

• Experience or deep interest in building AI/LLM-integrated interfaces.
• Professional experience with backend technologies like Kotlin or Java (Spring Boot).
