🎯 The Role

As a Principal Frontend Architect at Zscaler, you will be a visionary leader within the Frontend Engineering team. This high-impact hybrid role in Bengaluru involves leading the design, development, and evolution of world-class web applications. You will balance hands-on architecture with strategic technical direction, mentoring engineers, and driving overall engineering excellence to shape Zscaler’s next-generation user interfaces.

💼 What You'll Do

• Architect and build high-quality ReactJS solutions, specializing in translating complex UI/UX designs into robust, production-ready applications.
• Provide technical mentorship to foster a culture of innovation within the team.
• Shape and evolve Zscaler’s core design system, championing frontend best practices including modularity, semantic code, and comprehensive automated testing.
• Define clean API contracts and seamless integration roadmaps in collaboration with backend teams.
• Partner with DevOps to optimize CI/CD pipelines and continuously evaluate emerging technologies.
• Lead systematic refactoring efforts to ensure long-term scalability, reliability, and maintainability, with a strong focus on accessibility (a11y).

✅ What You'll Need

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, with 5+ years specializing in large-scale, production-grade ReactJS and Redux applications.
• Expert-level proficiency in ReactJS development using TypeScript, ES6+, and advanced state management paradigms.
• Proven experience building highly complex UIs, data-heavy dashboards, and advanced data visualizations (e.g., D3.js).
• Deep expertise in developing extensive unit, integration, and E2E testing suites using frameworks such as Jest, Enzyme, or Cypress.
• Proven track record of designing and deploying large-scale enterprise UIs emphasizing high availability, performance, and a seamless global user experience.
• Demonstrated curiosity and active exploration of AI tools, with a history of integrating modern technologies to enhance daily workflows and augment problem-solving capabilities.

• Advanced experience driving performance optimization using cutting-edge techniques such as lazy loading, code splitting, and tree shaking.
• Strong familiarity with backend development principles and practical experience using Node.js (or similar) for API integration, tooling, and debugging.
