🎯 The Role

As a Mid-level Frontend Engineer at Handshake, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing the user interfaces for our core platform. You will work on features that directly impact students, career centers, and employers, ensuring a seamless and intuitive experience. This role requires a strong understanding of modern frontend technologies and a passion for creating high-quality, scalable web applications in a remote-first environment.

💼 What You'll Do

• Develop, test, and deploy new user-facing features using React, TypeScript, and related technologies.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to define, design, and ship new features.
• Optimize web applications for maximum speed and scalability across various devices and browsers.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and continuously improving code quality.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues, ensuring a smooth and reliable user experience.

✅ What You'll Need

• 3+ years of professional experience in frontend web development.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
• Extensive experience with React.js and its ecosystem (e.g., Redux, React Router).
• Solid understanding of TypeScript and its application in large-scale projects.
• Experience with modern build tools (e.g., Webpack, Vite) and version control systems (Git).
• Ability to write comprehensive unit and integration tests.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially in a remote setting.

• Experience with Next.js or other server-side rendering frameworks.
• Familiarity with GraphQL APIs.
