🎯 The Role

Vercel is hiring a Design Engineer for AI Gateway. You will own product design and frontend implementation across the dashboard, CLI, and APIs, shaping how developers interact with AI models. This is a rare chance to use your product judgment, design craft, and code to shape a developer product and ship the experience yourself.

💼 What You'll Do

• Own product design and frontend implementation for the AI Gateway journey.
• Design and build production experiences across website, dashboard, CLI, and APIs.
• Make complex AI concepts understandable and create scalable patterns.
• Talk directly with customers and use data to improve the product.
• Own quality after launch including accessibility, performance, and edge cases.
• Use coding agents to explore and implement ideas quickly.

✅ What You'll Need

• A portfolio showing what you personally identified, designed, built, shipped, and learned.
• Production-quality web applications built with React and TypeScript.
• Strong visual and interaction craft, especially for technical products.
• Ability to move between graphical interfaces, CLI, API, and implementation details.
• Customer research and data-driven decision making.
• Experience using coding agents in daily work.

🌟 Nice to Have

• Experience with developer tools, infrastructure products, or model marketplaces.
• Worked with AI models, providers, or inference platforms.
• Experience with APIs, CLI tools, or agent-facing interfaces.
• Built an application or agent with Vercel's AI SDK or AI Gateway.
